Evergreen tree with opposite, lanceolate, leathery, dark green on the upper side and silvery on the other side leaves. It can reach 12m in height and 10m in diameter. Its flowers are whitish, unilamellar, very small and appear towards the end of May. Olea europea is very resistant to drought and to the strong winds. Its fruits mature and can be harvested in late autumn/early winter or even in early spring depending on the spieces. Olea europea is a tree rich in history and symbolisms, that is cultivated both for its fruits and for its special ornamental value. It can be planted individually or in groups in balconies, gardens, parks, sidewalks, building entrances and elsewhere. It is also very resistant to pests and diseases and can withstand temperatures as low as -8°C
