It would be nice if you put and mix in the garden 2-3 shovels of pumice in the ground around. In pot, we can put in soil mix for cacti with common garden soil in a 1:1 ratio , with a little pumice . Plant in fully sunny places . We scarcely water in winter, maybe once a month or less. The rest of the time we water only when the soil is completely dry. We give once a year, special fertilizer for cacti or " fertilizer for Vegetables" in much scarcer solution than recommended.
