Evergreen tree with leaves opposite, lanceolate, leathery, dark green on the upper surface and silvery on the bottom. It can reach a height of 12m and 10m in diameter. The flowers are whitish, unilamellar and very small form inflorescence votryos and appear towards the end of May. Very hardy plant drought and winds.
The fruit matures and is harvested in late autumn, early winter and even early spring depending on the variety.
