Aromatic species with ovate lanceolate evergreen leaves and green stems. Flowering in July-August, with lilac flowers in axillary inflorescences. Planted in flower beds with herbs, vegetable gardens, mulch used in loamy texture and cool soils in sunny or semi-shaded positions. Particularly useful in perfumery as essential oil. Stimulant and has digestive action. Aromatic refreshments, cold dishes, salads, fruit and vegetables.
