Stipa is a perennial, ornamental plant that belongs to the grasses and has great application in cases of ground cover. It belongs to that category of plants that are also called grasses worldwide. The size of the plant in full growth reaches one meter in height and covers a width of fifty centimeters. It has long, needle-shaped, green leaves that turn into hairy hairs at their tips. It blooms in spring but its small-sized flowers usually go unnoticed. It is planted individually, in groups or in combination with other plants, mainly flowering in flower beds, pots, rock gardens, for demarcation or in transitional zones in the garden. It does not have special soil requirements, but it is advisable to ensure proper drainage of the soil. It prefers sunny planting locations, while demonstrating excellent resistance to drought and frost.
