Perennial evergreen species with upright compact appearance. Has lanceolate leathery dark green leaves. Flowering June to August, with small white flowers. It serves as an ornamental, planted on bases of walls, rock gardens, paved edges, and as a flavoring found in linear plantings of flower beds with herbs and other similar plants. Suitable for xeric sunward soils. Even perfumes legumes and meats and is widely used in the manufacture of drugs.
